Question by Sue Straka: Why do you suppose we Americans are so schizophrenic about betting?
In other countries, particularly in Britain, you can bet on virtually anything, and turf accountants are all over. Here we are limited to betting at the track and OTCs are licensed in only certain states. I’m not much of a gambler, but it would be nice to be able to bet on something other than the lottery on a regular basis, especially if one follows sports, etc., and have it be in a public forum. We all know that billions of dollars trade hands on Superbowl and that there are bookies and so forth.

I don’t think schizophrenic means what you think it means, please check the dictionary definition of that word before using it again.
