On the 5th May SIS Ltd, the foremost supplier of television programming and data services to the UK and Ireland betting industry celebrates the 25th anniversary of its first broadcast. SIS also incorporates uplink, outside broadcast and product design divisions, collectively known as SIS LIVE. The original SIS service launched on 5th May 1987, broadcasting horseracing from Chester racecourse and Hackney greyhounds to just two hundred shops in the Bristol and Colchester regions. This service rapidly rolled out to the rest of the country, and in this first year of operations SIS’s first Standard Text Display system, known as TDC, also launched to the licensed betting office market
