And most gamblers at least try to “play the odds”…. is that so different from investing?

@ Dead Carl – so are poker and blackjack, for instance, not gambling? Because people do research and learn strategy to increase their odds – it’s not just chance – your own knowledge of the game, the odds, and your skill all play a role…

Gambling is putting your money at stake and getting a reward only on chance. Investing can require research and making a decision based on analysis and intuition. I’d say the line is research
