Question by thisone: horse betting – When a horse is unfit to race why do you not get your bet back?
I have had a bet on Weird Al at Cheltenam on Wed but since he will no longer be running, the bet has come up as ‘lose’.
What do you have to do to ensure you get your stake back if the horse becomes a non runner?

If the wager was made it what would be considered a “future’s” pool, then the entire risk falls on the handicapper….the runner does not go to post and there are no refunds.
