Question by A Yahoo! user: Exactly why is GAMBLING illegal? And why the Exceptions?
Previously, nearly every state has had anti-gambling laws, and most states still prohibit some forms of gambling.
Can we say gambling is WRONG because the bible says so? Where?
Now that government is “in on the action,” and making money off gamblers, some gambling is now legal. But does that make it right?
Ultimately, does gambling benefit society? Or is it detrimental to society?

Gambling can be beneficial but usually it lures those with compulsive tendencies, not people who are just having a bit of fun. SO generally it is not beneficial to society.
Also – the Bible can blab on about it, but conservatives love gambling revenues.
