Question by : What is the legal age to become a bookmaker in the UK?
Not to be confused with the age required to gamble in the UK (18) – what is the legal age to become a licenced bookmaker and take bets yourself?

I’m fairly certain its 18. You can work in a betting shop when you’re 18, can’t see why you couldn’t run one. I’ve looked on the gambling commissions website and can’t find a minimum age suggesting that it is probably 18 although licence applications are quite strict, you need to prove that you have the capacity and finances to manage a gambling business. If you are actually serious just ring them up.
